Brought to commercial success and popularity in the 1950s by Leo Fender, the bass guitar replaced the double bass as the tonal foundation of almost all pop music. We use a bass clef for low notes (the symbol that looks like an ear and slightly resembles an F above). You’ll also find some 4-string bass guitars that are equipped with a piezo pickup, similar to the type used in acoustic-electric instruments. When you see a 12 lb bass sky rocket towards the surface of the water with a mouth the size of a dinner plate….it is an indescribable sight!
This happens due to the different thought processes demanded by a Bass, and for this reason, I often use the Bass to teach certain aspects of music to my guitar students. If the guitar or bass is just taking up space, maybe they will let it go for cheap. It was not until 1927 that Gretsch not only produced their first line of American made drum, they also started in the guitar manufacturing business.
Whatever strategy you use, a bigger lipless like the D-10 does bag bigger bass than average. The solid-body Gretsch Committee Bass , model 7629, developed in 1980 came with a single Supertron pickup, two on side-chromed tuners, chromed hardware and a beautiful walnut finish.
A bass guitar typically has an appearance and construction similar to an electric guitar, with a longer neck and a range of courses from four to eight strings. The first big advantage of the Bass is the fact that you can learn to play it really quickly. The body of this bass came with a hinged back, made to be folded in half, for storage and transportation when the neck and slab were removed.
At that point, bass will materialize out of deep water, swimming onto the bar or ledge to pluck the bottom-gouging crankbait off the shallow bottom, often only a few feet deep. Rhythm playing is the hardest part for guitar students to learn: it takes skill and imagination to hold a chord and make it interesting.
